BEWARE OF ONLINE SCAMS

First and foremost...I am not saying Ebay or Craigslist

is the scam....I deal with them. I'm saying people that

are buying are what I want you to be aware of. I put an

ad to sell a laptop on Craigslist. Below, is her answer.

It is a scam. I know for a fact, because the first time

I ever heard of this, was a real situation with a friend

of mine. They sent him a check, asked him to take the 

item off of Craigslist and consider it sold. He did.

BUT...he took the check to the bank to find out if it

was good.

It took a few days of investigating because the checks

they send are so good...but it was not.

Had my friend cashed the check, he would have been

responsible.

The people on the other end would have received the money,

the item and my friend would have had to put the money

back in the bank for the entire amount. I don't

understand people. If we are collecting food stamps,

unemployment or welfare,we don't have jobs.

If we have a job, we are considered "lucky". I just

retired,but for 20 years I put my feet on the floor when

the alarm went off and hauled butt...like we all do, or 

have done. Never in my life, would I thought of doing 

this to someone.

We do what we have to do to feed ours kids,pay the

bills and get through life. I do not understand how 

someone can TRY to cheat you and get away with it. 

The sad part is, they do get to some people. 

I've seen these letters as far back as four years ago.

If people are still writing them, I have to figure it's

a good business for them...or they would have stopped.

They always ask you to send your item to someone, but

they will pay the bill and the shipping or have someone

pick it up. Here's what I answer. NO. I never hear from 

them again. 

Craigslist and Ebay try to educate us about frauds, all the time.

Usually,the scam mail is from gmail. Not always, so be aware of

any email with this little trick they try to pull.

NEVER, EVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFO TO ANYONE....

ON THE INTERNET OR THE PHONE. 

Please read the letter, below. Doesn't the person sound like a

caring, loving parent?  Don't kid yourself...they will take your

savings or your paycheck and go to bed that night and sleep like 

a baby.
