FRIENDSHIP POTPOURRI

Friendship Potpourri

People at work, church, organizations, class…can make a friendship potpourri together
and learn how.
If you have a lot of people, double or triple the recipe.
The Recipe:
1 gallon of small pine pieces
Gather pine branches, cut into small pieces…about 1 foot. Put in brown paper bag.
Shake daily to dry needles and make them fall into bottom of bag.
Cut branches and snip pieces 1 to 2 inches. Lay out on a paper towel in a cool, dark place.
Add both, needles and small bits.
4 c.( or more) small pine cones
Pine cones from under pine trees. Put them in a bag and shake them to get old
needles to drop off.
2 c.(or more) dried orange peel
When you peel an orange, tear the peels into small pieces. Lay on a paper towel
and stir around daily. They should be dry in a week. If they are large dried pieces, they
can be thrown into a food processor to cut smaller .
1 c broken cinnamon sticks
1 c whole cloves
break them up a bit to release fragrance
1 c course rock salt
This is the fixative. It helps the scent to remain longer
2 c small red flowers
rose petals or any red flowers you have
1/2 c whole allspice
Break up a bit to release scent
20 drops of cinnamon essential oil
Can now be bought at walmart in the craft section
Mix the salt and cinnamon oil in a closed container and let cure for 2 or 3 days.
Mix all ingredients in a dishpan, or bag.
Can be used right away. Cellophane bags can be bought at candy making stores,
or use ziplock. Divide the ingredients to bring and divide the finished project.
